Arugula 45"3" x 7"Plant 'Rocket' for a long term harvest that is beautiful and delicious.
Beans (Pole) 249"5" x 1' 1"Some favorites are 'purple pole' and 'contender' which can both be planted in late August/early September for a harvest until frost.
Beet 385"3" x 7"Direct sow beet seeds in September. Great varieties are 'Ruby Red' and 'Detroit.'
Broccoli 31' 5"1' 5" x 1' 5"'Artwork' broccoli is my favorite variety as it grows broccolini all season long instead of one head. This variety is a must! Plant in September.
Brussels Sprouts 51' 11"1' 11" x 1' 11"'Jade Cross' and 'Long Island Improved' are tried and true varieties that do well here. Plant in September.
Cabbage (Fall) 62' 9"2' 7" x 2' 11"'Cheers' and 'Flat Dutch' are excellent varieties that do well here. Plant in September and plant both to have cabbage all season.
Carrot 803"3" x 5"Carrots should be direct sown in September and can be continually sown all season. Get creative with varieties like 'Rainbow' and 'Purple Haze.' So much fun!
Cauliflower 51' 7"1' 5" x 1' 11"Varieties like 'Cheddar' and 'Graffiti' make great showings for LSU football season. If you want less color, try 'Snow Crown.' Plant in September.

Collards 711"11" x 1' 3"Collards are easy to grow and 'Georgia Creole' are delicious and do well here. They continue to produce all season so plant once in September and keep enjoying them.
Cucumber 41' 11"1' 11" x 1' 11"Cucumbers do really well here in the fall. Varieties like 'Marketmore' and 'Straight 8' will be ready to pick in just 60 days. That is important because they will die in the first freeze, typically in November. Plant transplants as soon as possible.
Dill 97"5" x 9"Dill can be planted anytime and will grow all season. Transplant for best success.
Garlic 215"3" x 9"Garlic is easy to grow and should be planted in October/November. Garlic should be ordered from a reputable company online for best results. I like Keene Garlic (I can order for you when I order mine.)
Kale 51' 3"1' 1" x 1' 5"'Lacinato' kale is the most popular variety. It grows well here from September through spring.

Mizuna 109"7" x 11"This Asian green is spicy and delicious. Plant in September. It is frost tolerant and will grow until the weather heats up.
Mustard 405"5" x 5"'Florida Broadleaf' is a great mustard green to eat, and 'Giant Red' is stunning in the garden. I would plant both in September.

Peas 103"3" x 7"Add 'Thomas Laxton' sugar snap peas for a fun winter addition. Plant in January and enjoy until the weather warms up.
