About this Garden Plan
Second year of my garden experiment! 40% larger for 2022! The entire garden space is netting on both the sides and top to keep the free range chickens in the backyard from accessing the garden. Side walls are around 7' tall with a center peak of just over 8'. All walkways are covered with burlap for weed prevention, topped with a thick layer of wood chips. Each bed is 8'x10', with a 4'x16' cattle panel arched to create a trellis system. The intent is to train any vine plant to grow up the trellis in order to create more usable ground space for other plants. 3-tiered planter stands at the east end of the walkways contain terra cotta pots to create additional space for fresh herbs and flowers. South end of the space houses a 3-binned compost area and a multitiered vermiculture system.
